Specify the strap together with the product it attaches to.
Hoplok develops leather straps as part of custom bag and accessory projects. Tell us whether you need a shoulder strap, wrist strap, handle component or another leather attachment, and whether it is supplied separately or assembled into a finished product.
The attachment method is the starting point. A strap can have the right color and still fail to fit the intended ring, buckle or fixing point. Send the mating hardware dimensions, the desired adjustment range and a drawing or reference sample for review.
State the required number of straps and finished products separately. Material preparation, hardware and assembly requirements are reviewed before quotation.
Use a shared measurement and construction brief
- Length and width
- Finished dimensions, measurement start/end points, adjustment range and tolerance requirements.
- Leather construction
- Material and finish, thickness, single or layered construction, backing, edge treatment and stitching.
- Attachment ends
- Folded, punched, riveted, sewn or other requested ends; matching ring or buckle dimensions and fixing method.
- Hardware and comfort
- Clip and adjuster references, finish, shoulder contact area, padding where requested and how the strap moves in use.
- Brand and packing
- Logo position, orientation, labels, pair or single packing and protection against hardware rubbing.
Approve the complete attachment system
Review the strap on the intended bag or accessory, with the actual mating hardware. Assess adjustment, attachment clearance, twisting, contact with the body and edge comfort. A strap sample evaluated on its own does not establish the performance of the complete product.
- Measure the usable length and check the minimum and maximum settings.
- Inspect seams, folds, edge finish, hole placement and hardware orientation.
- Review reinforcement and agree appropriate pull, movement and wear checks for the intended use.
- Specify expected contents and use conditions before agreeing any load or durability claim; no universal carrying capacity is stated here.
Coordinate straps with the finished collection
For replacement or separately packed straps, record the compatible attachment dimensions and the instructions that customers need. Avoid claiming compatibility with another brand or model without checking the complete interface.

Questions to resolve before sampling
Can straps be supplied separately from bags?
Describe the required component, quantity and assembly responsibility. Separate supply is reviewed against the strap specification, material preparation and hardware availability before an order is confirmed.
Can a strap match an existing product?
Provide the product or physical material references, attachment dimensions and hardware finish. Review the match on a complete sample; photographs alone may not show thickness, texture or fit.
What if I need a belt strap rather than a bag strap?
Use our custom belt range to discuss belt width, buckle compatibility, waist sizing and tip construction. A bag shoulder-strap specification should not be used as a substitute for a belt specification.
